Cuban President visits Vietnam
Commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s declaration of independence
The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, on August 31 to participate in the commemorative celebration of the triumph of the August Revolution, the proclamation of independence, and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, today called the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Cuban President will meet with To Lam, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Luong Cuong, President of Vietnam; Phan Minh Chinh, Prime Minister; and Tran Than Man, President of the National Assembly. In addition, the Cuban delegation will visit biopharmaceutical and telecommunications companies, and it will meet with Vietnamese entrepreneurs in sectors important for the economy of Cuba.
