Ho Chi Minh declared the undeniable right of independence 80 years ago
It was on September 2, 1945, eighty years ago today, that Ho Chi Minh, before a crowd of one-half million people in Ba Dinh square in Hanoi, continually shouting “independence,” declared the independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, today the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
