Free Black Thought has contributions from black scholars and activists who have a solid grasp of the black American experience, rooted in common-sense intelligence. Many offer critiques of the prevailing rhetoric among black activists, including criticisms of the stress on black victimization as against black achievements as well as critiques of concepts concepts like “systemic racism” and “white privilege.”
Glenn Loury is an important black American scholar, an economist who courageously demonstrated, against the rhetoric of Black Lives Matter activists, that blacks are 25 times more likely to be killed by another black than by the police, that more whites than blacks are killed by the police, and that 1,200 fatal shootings of people by the police annually should be seen in the context of tens of thousands of arrests daily in the United States.
