I've been following your substack for several months now. I don't recall how I first came across it, but I am so glad I did. Your columns are some of the most enriching and rewarding to read.
As someone whose politics derive from a leftist milieu, I've found the liberal/leftist response to the pandemic, their adoption of contrived "woke" identity politics, and their contempt for rural workers, among other things, to be particularly baffling and alienating. For me, the fundamental flaw of their political analysis (even those of self-described Marxist-Leninists) isn't even something necessarily political; it was their utter disregard of, and disinterest in, the truth, reality, and the investigative process. In this regard, your writings on post-modernism, patriotism, and--especially--objective knowledge have been a godsend.
At the same time, I've seen many of these same themes being discussed in other online communities, albeit from different perspectives, aesthetics, and reference points. Infrared is the most notable. So I think it's fantastic that you decided to write about their #MAGACommuniusm meme. I hope that the discussion continues and can lead to a productive dialogue or even collaboration in the future.
Just as an FYI, if you haven't seen them already, here are some other writings and coverage of MAGACommunism:
