the sad situation with Korea is that the so called end of the war did not lead to signing any treaties that said the war ended. From the perspective of North Koreans the war has not officially ended. Why should they not be paranoid of US intentions and when things could get escalated again. Also, Koreans can see how the US and European behaved when they asked Libya and Iraq to give up their nuclear programs, we went and bombed the hell out of those countries. Why should North Koreans give up any nuclear program, if they have one. The US and European nations have to show bit more integrity and honesty for countries to believe what they say. Both Libya and Iraq are countries in complete shambles today. I am sure North Koreans do not want to end up the same way.
